Alison Clark is an award winning Australian artist specialising in African Wildlife painting. Her life-long passion for animals and nature is evident in her sensitively executed works in oil and pastel. She has been fortunate to have studied at length with some of the artists who have inspired her, including Regina Hona and Stephen Powell. Her work has been published in the US collectors' magazine "Wildlife Art", and "Australian Artist" magazine. She exhibits regularly in Australia, including the PSV and WASA exhibitions and the AGRA seasonal exhibitions, as well as joint exhibitions with other artists. Her white lion paintings feature in a recently published booked titled “An African Legend,” proceeds of which support the White Lion Protection Trust. Regular travel to the wild animals' endemic habitats enables her to gather reference material and to experience the animals, their lives and environment. These experiences translate into her work. She has also done conservation volunteer work in South Africa and Namibia where it was possible to get very close to lions, leopards and cheetahs, and in 2008 spent time as a volunteer at Makalali Reserve on the elephant immuno-contraceptive research program, with further travel through Botswana and Zambia gathering references for paintings. She returned in 2010 to join research programs on African wild dog, cheetah and elephant. She has a FGASA accredited certificate in African Carnivore Behaviour.
