Karen is a self taught artist and illustrator, who works in a range of mediums, but loves the immediacy and versatility of graphite and coloured pencils. Much of her work is miniature or small format art, as she loves to do fine, intricate artworks. It is this love for fine detail, and a lifelong passion for animals and birds that draws her to the genre of wildlife art. Having spent much of her life juggling a career as a Registered Nurse and raising four sons, it is only recently that Karen has had the time and opportunity to pursue her love for art full-time. She is a member of the Australian Society of Miniature Art (NSW) and Illustrators Australia, and in her relatively short career, has already won numerous awards and sold many paintings.
