Passion about the environment and the beauty of the Surf Coast in Victoria are her key inspirations. Kris’s painting subjects vary from a simple gum leaf, shell or sweep of beach to the intricacy suggested by her delicate, yet strong bird paintings. Her love for animals, particularly wildlife, began whilst caring for injured birds including a Barn Owl and a Bronzewing when she was young. Kris hopes to share her joy in the pleasure and beauty of natural objects with us. Nowadays she is involved in working with Australian birds in a truly hands-on way, and she finds it rewarding and enlightening.

Specialist retailers in New Zealand, Sydney & Melbourne sell Giclee prints of Kris’s albatross, tree and leaf paintings, and some prints are available from her website.

As she and her husband live part-time at Torquay Victoria, Kris spends much time on the beach and surrounding areas, with an increasing amount of time spent looking for inspiring subjects, then painting at her home studio or at Torquay. The parks and local landmarks of the Eastern suburbs are her Melbourne inspirations.

Kris is a former councillor of AGRA and a member of The Watercolour Society of Victoria and AGRA.
